Ruthumana (Rutumana) is a Kannada literary e-zine with the primary objective of showcasing Kannada writings and translations to a broad-based global readership.
Focus and scope
Started and run by a group of enthusiasts, Ruthumana publishes both creative and critical writing. The magazine offers a wide range of literary forms—poetry, short fiction, essays, conversations with writers, book reviews and the like.
Bearing in mind the general readership on the internet, it will, however, avoid highly academic articles. Besides presenting the work of more established authors, Ruthumana will also promote talented new and young writers.
We at Ruthumana strive to feature some of the best literature and writers in our webzine (online magazine), old as well as new. Our journal offers a feast of literature with unique sections, such as vyakta madhya, pustaka pareekshe, hindana hejje etc.
Along with literature ruthumana also offers webisodes on various contemporary topics, audio podcasts, documentaries etc.
Frequency of Publication
Ruthumana Kannada e-magazine is updated regularly and documented periodically based on seasons.
Open Access Policy
Ruthumana provides open access to all its content to support greater global exchange of knowledge. The free access policy, we believe, will benefit both the writer as well as the reader. While it affords a larger, global exposure for an author’s work, it will bring to a discerning reader the rich and varied Kannada literature. Contents of the journal may, however, be used with proper attribution only for academic and non-commercial purposes. Copyright of a published work rests with the author.
